Until 1952, he was employed as secretary/treasurer and purchasing agent of Kwick-Mix Concrete Mixer Co., a subsidiary of Koehring Corporation, at Port Washington. He then established an accounting and tax service. In conjunction with this service, he later was employed half-days at Modern Equipment Co., at Newburg, a small town in Washington County, which is a few miles west of Port Washington.

Lorraine Klein was a member of the Christian Mothers and Altar society, the Third Order of St. Francis, and the Daughters of Isabella.
